On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Aylor, Mrs. Francis Haney and Morris Carter visited relatives at Bentonville. Mrs. Mary Fitzhugh recently went to the University Hospital in Charlottesville for a check up. She was accompanied by Mrs. Fannie Jackson and Reuben Aylor.
Short Course Offered For Seedsmen May 29-30
A short course for Virginia seedsmen will be held May 20 -30 at the President Madison Inn at Orange, according to Dr. R. L. Harrison of the agronomy department at Virginia Tech. Highlight of the meeting on Monday will be a talk by Dr. B. Von Schmeling, director of pesticide screening, UniRoyal Chemical Company. He will speak on “Breakthrough in the Control of Smut and Rust Diseases.* Other topics will include: flaming alfalfa for weevil con trol, irrigation potential in Vi? ginia, the future of sorghum sudangrass hybrids, turf seed programs, high quality corn silage, and increasing profits in the seed business.
Tuesday the seedsmen will hear S. Mason Carhaugh of Richmond speak on “The Com mission of the Industry of Agriculture in Virginia.*
