The annual 4-H Pig Chain Awards Banquet sponsored by Sears-Roebuck was held »Thursday evening at the HyWy Restaurant in Front Royal Both Warren and Rappahannock County 4-H-ers participate in the pig chain, which is sponsored jointly by the Sears-Roebuck Foundation and Front Royal CatalogStore. The swine project was started some 15 years ago and the chain has continued through the years. A 4-H’er is given a sow which is bred, and from the litter raised, a sow is given another youngster the following year. Records must lx? kept until the projects completion, after which judging takes place. In first place in Rappahannock was Lincoln Timbers, rollowed by Wayne Dodson, second; third and fourth were loe Smith and Joan Welch, re spectively. A cash iward is presented the winner in addiion to ribbons. Warren County winners were Richard Crowder, Steve Sweeney. Cwen and Linda Heflin, Richard Mclnturff and Leona Hill.
