An Achievement night for Rappahannock Home Demonstration Clubs was held Monday, November 20 with the Amissville club as host. The program was held at the fire hall there. Mrs. F. L. Bowey, county chairman, presided at the meeting and guests were welcomed by Mrs. Robert Settle, president of the Amissville club.
The Rev. Charles Kindred, pastor of Amissville Baptist Church, gave the invocation and short message which was followed by group singing led by Mrs. Barbara Gentry of Flint Hill. Mrs. B. G. Titchenell of Woodville recognized visitors and a representative of each club reported on club activities for the year. Mrs. Mary Cleverley of Flint Hill reported on the knitting classes which she had instructed. These groups are sponsored by the H. D. clubs and the Arts and Crafts Group.
In her report, Mrs. Cleverley said 69 individuals have taken part in the classes and 59 certificates have been awarded." The first class was held in February of 65 and the last class just completed last week. Those attending have ranged in ages from 7 to 70 years and included one male.
