George Hughes George Hughes, 73, of Washington, Va. died November 15, 1967 at the University of Virginia Hospital following an illness of several weeks. He was l native of Rappahannock County, son of the late Robert and Lizzie Munday Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Vennie Hughes; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Freeman and two foster children, Miss Jackie Porter and Leroy Porter, Jr., all of Wash ington. Also one brother Jim Hughes of Washington. A funeral service was held Sunday at Promised Land Bap tist Church near Washington with burial in the Vennie family cemetery near there. The Rev. Robert Ausberry officiated.
