■Just now tne local accident record compares with the records in other communities is revealed in the current report, which is based upon data gathered by the U. S. Public Health Service for its annual compilation of vital statistics. The survey shows that there were 3 fatal accidents among Rappahannock County residents during the year ending January 1, 1966, and that motor vehicles were responsible for 2 of them. The figures take into account all types of accidents affecting local people, wherever they may have occurred, but they do not include non-residents involved in local accidents. In terms of population, the local accident toll was at the rate of 60 fatalities per 100, 000 people. It was higher than in the United States as a whole, where the average rate was 55 per 100,000.
