Minor Wrecks

Reported

A single-vehicle and a twocar traffic crash were reported on Rappahannock roads Saturday.

At 11 a.m. on Route 626 (Blacksburg Road)near Washington, Walter Freeman operating a 1966 International Scout owned by Rayner V. Snead ran off the right of the road and struck a tree. Damage was estimated at $150. In the afternoon in Sperryville a 67 Chevrolet owned and operated by Jack Clater was struck by a 61 Falcon station wagon owned and operated by Henry Woodward of Front Royal. Clater was making a left turn into a private drive when the Woodward vehicle struck him in the rear. There were no injuries and damage to the vehicles was estimated at $200 to each.

Woodward was charged with following too closely. Both crashes were investigated by Trooper W. A. Buntin.
