Was talking to a successful cattleman the other day about bull buying. He said he’d rather buy a yearling than a two year old. If he bought the latter, he figured he was ready to go; [usually over worked him and : seemed to wind up with the bull needing a couple years to korne back and look about as I good as he did as a two year old. Said he’d come to buying nothing but a yearling bull. Let him down slowly off feed, bread him to but 6-8 females, and by the time he was two had something ready to really GO. “Go” to the butcher, if his first few calves weren’t the kind he was looking for or “Go" to work in a big capable way, if his calves panned out. To me, sounds like a good plan. To me this is another reason to check over the bulls on Feed Test to be sold March 8th at Gulpeper Enterprises. Most will be yearlings. All will have proven themselves capable on dam and in feed lot. Capable of growing and looking right. Character listics highly transmissable to
