Rep. Marsh Declares
Washington, -- Rep. John O. Marsh, Jr., said today that postal service between the Nation’s Capital and the 7th Virginia Congressional District "is not up to the standard postal patrons have a right to expect -- particularly in view of the increased postage rates they are paying. Marsh said the impression he had formed from ‘numerous and widespread complaints" had been confirmed by a series of test mailings of almost 800 letters from his Congressional office here over a period of two weeks. In general, he said, the test indicated patrons could expect better service on mail from 7th District points to Washington than from Washington to the CongressionalD 1 stri it, which comprises 17 counties and 7 independent cities and nearly 20 per cent of the land area of the State.
