While cherry blossoms are attracting interest and viewers in (he nation's capital, peach (like these in picture) and apple blossoms are under intense scrutiny in Rappahannock County, but for a different reason. According to Extension Agent W. Ii. Lyne, the temperature dipped to 23 degrees Friday night, so spot checking of freeze damage to fruit here is underway. Near Woodville there was some peach damage reported in ltpver areas in one orchard while in another there was no damage found. Also in that area there was some damage to the king bud of apples. At Sperryville an orchardist reported no damage in his apples, pears or cherriets so far. Spot checking continued yesterday, but further report was not obtained before press time.
