Scheduled Aug. 7-8
The program for the Ninth \nnual Virginia Market Hog Slow and Sale scheduled for \ugust 7 and 8 at Courtland, Virginia, is announced by Show iSiairman John H. Carter, Jr., issistant extension livestock pecialist at Holland. “With an excellent program for his year, we are anticipating ncreased participation and ittendance,” said Carter. “The lumber of animals on display loubled during the first eight /ears of the show. Last year’s ecord entries included over 240 inimals from 12 counties with 33 jonsignments.” In his announcement, Carter loted that Bernard W. Ebbing, iirector of hog procurement for ilath Packing Company, will udge this year’s show. As a swine ixpert, Ebbing has been ■ecognized nationally by the wine industry for his work in log improvement programs. He las judged leading barrow shows uid purebred type conferences hroughout the U. S. and most of he leading Midwestern State Fairs. “We are happy to announce hat our keynote speaker this /ear is J. K. Butler, Jr., executive secretary of the N. C.
