Flint Hill firemen opened their annual carnival last night and it will continue through Saturday night with a grand parade scheduled for tonight, Thursday beginning at 7 p.m.
Miss Beverley Byrd, daughter of U. S. Senator and Mrs. Harry Byrd, will marshal the parade and special guests will include Miss Michele Patrick, “Miss American Teen-Ager”; Miss Cherie Davis, “Miss Virginia 1968”; and Miss Jan Minnich, “Miss Shenandoah Apple Blossom.” The parade will be led by the U. S. Army Band and Color guard of Ft. Belvoir. Bands, floats, beauty queens, majorettes, comics and Fire and rescue squad equipment may all be seen in the line of parade.
A plate dinner will be served Thursday night and hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and coffee are available each night.
Friday night a 700-lb. purebred registered black angus heifer donated by Admiral Josef Gardiner’s High Meadow Farm will be given away in addition to a second prize donated by Wall’s Jewelers.
'Die carnival will come to a climax on Saturday night with the awarding of the grand prize, a 1968 Plymouth, and three cash prizes. In addition, an 800 lb. purebred registered black angus heifer which was donated by
