delegates so that the total number they can cast at the convention will not exceed the total allotted to that county or city.
Preceding the first session of the convention, each district is required to caucus and elect certain officers and agree on nominations to be made for other offices. Each district chooses three members on each of the Resolutions, Credentials and Permanent Organization Committee, and decides on the nominees it will present to the convention for delegates to the National Convention. Each district is entitled to two delegates with one vote each, twoi delegates with one-half vote each, md two alternates to the National Convention. The District caucus also nominates one Presidential Elector and seven members of the Democratic Central Committee. All of these nominees must be approved by rate of the State Convention.
A major time consuming part of the State Convention is the nomination and election of the State Democratic Chairman, the National Committeewoman and the National Committeeman. Election to these three offices is accomplished by polling the entire delegation by counties and cities and tallying the votes cast by each committee chairman.
