Mrs. Ida Yates
Mrs. Ida Perry Lippitt Yates, 92, of Washington, D. C., died July 25, 1968 after a long illness. She was bom in Charles Town West Virginia, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Fontaine Lippitt.
After her marriage to Edward Yates in 1897, they lived in Fairfield, Fauquier County and later at Mount Ida Farm, Rappahannock County near Huntly. Mr. Yates died in 1951.
In 1928 they moved to Washington, D. C. and Mrs. Yates became curator for the Textile Museum and was consultant for many other institutions.
She is survived by two sons, James E. Yates of Front Royal and Edward M. Yates, Jr., Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Louisa Perry Durant of Washington, D. C. and Mrs. George Moran of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; also eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in the Flint Hill Methodist Cemetery. I
