Master Sergeant William G. Putnam, son of Mrs. Ethel Hall oi Amissville, has been recognized for helping his unit earn the U. S. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Sergeant Putnam, a budget superintendent in the 5010th Combat Support Group at Eielson AFB, Alaska, will wear the distinctive service ribbon as a permanent decoration. His unit was cited for highly significant contributions to th effectiveness and accomplishmen of the Alaskan Air Commam operational mission.
This is the second time in thi past 18 months that the unit ha; been so honored.
The sergeant attendee Rappahannock High School Little Washington, Va., anc completed requirements for his diploma after entering the service. He studied at the University ol Maryland European Division and Rollins College, Orlando, Florida. He is married to the former Regine R. Cohen from Israel.
