Ihere is no charge to the adult student, since, the entire cost is financed by the local, state, and federal governments. The Adult Basic Education program’s aim is to teach the functional use of communicative skills as well as to provide an educational foundation for more advanced work.
This is the second year that Adult Basic Education classes have been offered in Warren and Rappahannock Counties and the classes will again be under the supervision of Robert R. Long. Mr. Long asked that all interested adults attend the first class meeting on September 16 or contact him at Warren County High School (635-4144) for more details.
Mr. Long asked that all residents of Warren and Rappahannock Counties assist in reaching those people who would benefit from such a program.
Rev. Clements Speaker at Forest Grove Revival
A week-long revival will be held at Forest Grove Baptist Church beginning Sunday, September 15 and continuing through Friday evening. The Rev. Roger Clements of Victoria, Va. will be the guest minister for the services which begin each evening at 8 p.m.
Rev. Clements is a native of Jeffersonton, Culpeper County, and well known in this area.
Special music will be presented each evening and everyone is invited to attend.
Returns from Vietnam
Edward Hicklin has returned to his home after serving a year’s tour of duty with the armed forces in Vietnam. Mr. and Mrs. Hicklin and twin daughters, Lana and Dona, have moved from Amissville to Danville where Mr. Hicklin will be assistant manager of a department store. Mrs. Hicklin made her home with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Thornton D. Semones in Amissville.
