“Mountain Green”, the historic and beautiful farm estate owned by Mrs. Marietta Cheatham and her son, Arthur, has been sold.
The stone and brick main dwelling, in a storybook setting among sheltering trees on Harris Hollow Road just a mile from the town of Washington, has often been featured in house and garden tours. The stone portion, which comprised the original structure of pioneer days, is said to have been built in 1765, and is a landmark in the history of Rappahannock County. County.
