Single-Car Crash
A single-car crash occurred on Route 522 a mile south of Flint Hill early Sunday morning and involved two Washington, Va. residents. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, Jake Smoot, Jr. operating a 1960 Buick sedan, lost control of the vehicle, ran down a bank on the left of the road and struck a tree.
Junior Woodward, a passenger, sustained an injury to his right knee and to his back. He was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by the Rappahannock Rescue Squad and admitted.
Smoot will be charged with reckless driving, said the officer.
