Culpeper and Boston, Va. are really on the map for at least this week; put there by the Northern Virginia Fox Hunters Association. Tlie NVFHA is having it’s annual fox hound field trials this week. Registration of hounds and a bench show were held last night, Wednesday and the first day of running took place this morning. TTie hounds will be cast at daybreak again Friday and Saturday the 13th and 14th at The Hill, farm of Oliver Dumat II near Boston.
Dove Hunters apparently enjoyed a successful day this past Saturday even though doves have not concentrated in too many areas yet. Anyone seeking new grounds to shoot on might like to try Hawfield in Orange County. This is a Game Commission managed area open to dove hunting on Saturday and Wednesday afternoons. Only a small amount of com had been cut last Saturday yet the sampling of hunters I talked to had averaged about eight birds a piece. Much more com should have been cut by this coming Saturday, and hopefully many more doves. Hawfield is located between Route 522 and the town of Rapidan on
