Blueboy Makes

Wheat Survey

According to Robert L. Harrison, Extension Specialist, Seeds, reports from the field indicate a record shift to Blueboy, as much as 5O'* or more of the state wheat acreage and possibly some of the barley acreage.

Results of this survey tend to support the limited research available on this variety. Items of significant interest of this variety are:

1. Standability was excellent— far superior to other varieties.

2. Test Weight was good this year

3. Continued yield response above 125 lbs. of Nitrogen

4. Seeding rate of 1 to 1 't bushels was adequate.

5. Several growers reported that the variety should not be seeded late. Blueboy is not resistant to Hessian fly, however.
