County Fire School
Set This Sat.-Sun.
The annual fire school sponsored by the Rappahannock County Fire Association will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6 and October 12 and 13 at the rear of the Amissville carnival grounds. The school is approved by the Industrial Education Service of the State Department of Education in Richmond. Paul A. Poling of Amissville is the school director, as well as an instructor. The fire training course consists of 30 hours of instruction and training on structural fires, breathing apparatus, radiation monitoring, civil disturbances, ventilation and pumps. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. the first day of school and classes are from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Post Office Mailing Tips
All postal patrons are reminded to use correct and complete mailing addresses for all classes o? mail in order to assure delivery. Be sure to show proper return addresses also. All mail for Rappahannock addresses- should specifically show proper P. O. Box Number, proper RFD and box number, proper street name and number, or General Delivery. If you are not sure what your complete address is ask the postman. The post office receives a large volume of mail each day that cannot be delivered because it does not have any address, or the address is incorrect.'
Patrons are also reminded that all letters are 6 cents an ounce up to 13 ozs; all greeting cards (Christmas, Get Well, Birthday, etc.) up to one oz. are 6 cents sealed or unsealed; unsealed greeting cards up to 2 ozs may be mailed for 6 cents also. Post cards are a nickel. Air mail letters are 10 cents an ounce up to 7 ozs.
