Edward M. Estes
Edward Marshall Estes, 57, of Sperryville died suddenly Monday, September 30, 1968. He was a retired merchant of 30 years, a member of Washington Masonic Lodge and served on Rappahannock Board of Supervisors 16 years. He maintained a payment office for Piedmont Electric and C & P Telephone Company.
Bom in Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late James A. and Ella V. Hyde Estes, both of Rappahannock County. He was a member of the Sperryville Methodist Church and a charter member of the Sperryville Fire Department. Funeral services will be held at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) with interment in the Washington Masonic Cemetery with full Masonic rites. The Rev. William A. Harrison will officiate.
Mr. Estes is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florine Atkins Estes; two brothers, Charles H. and Robert F. Estes; three sisters, Mrs. A. L. Swindler, Mrs. Roy Swindler and Mrs. Randolph Stevenson, all of Sperryville.
