TTie “PLANT MORE TREES’ program of VIRGINIA FORESTS, Inc., which is being conducted in cooperation with the Virginia Division of Forestry has as its goal the planting of 50C million tree seedlings within a 10-year period. This would equal the half billion that were planted during the first half century of Virgini’s reforestation history. Purpose of the PMT program is to make idle and abandoned agricultural land and cut-over woodlands productive once again to help provide the timber needs for a growing industry and a growing nation. Rappahannock County received 26,000 seedlings.
