transferred to the pier and boarded the “Jeanne Marie” for our cruise along the Kona Coast where we saw the Burial Caves, Disappearing Sands Beach, Royal Slides, Kealakelua Bay and the Monument to Capt. Cook. We then transferred to “Hie Glass Bottom Boat” to view the tropical fish and coral reefs and watch native divers perform under water. Each of us got coral. You should have seen us getting rid of the brown and the odor from it; however, I got mine home.
On Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 11, we were transferred to the airport for our flight to the Garden Isle of Kauai. Kauaians make a big thing of their Island never having been conquered, as Maui, Molokai, Hawaii, Lanai and Oahu were. We were taken by motor coach to our hotel on beautiful Poipu Beach right on the ocean, lire next morning in our air-conditioned motor coach we took a tour which finally took us to the Waimeau Canyon, known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. This trip to the canyon and the canyon itself will always remain in my memory. I( is 3,675 ft. deep, nearly a milt wide and ten miles long. It is evei changing color.
