Some 40 streams in 37 Virginia counties will be stocked with 41,250 catchable size trout during early November, reports Game Commission Fish Division Chief Jack Hoffman. The stocking is somewhat later than a similar release last fall because streams were too low until recently to support the trout. Hunters already in the woods for western game seasons should find a relaxing change in some mid-afternoon angling along a rushing stream. Last year’s hunters reported pan-fried trout a tasty addition to the hunting camp menu. A trout license and regular fishing license are required of all persons fishing in stocked streams.

Trout will be stocked in the north fork of the TTiomton River and in the Hughes River on Thursday, November 7 (today).] The South River in Greene; County will be stocked on the 7th also. Gooney Run in Warren County was stocked November 6 and Hawksbill in Page County will be stocked tomorrow,
