Unofficial Precinct Returns in Rappahannock County
Richard M. Nixon, Republican presidential candidate, glided to an easy
victory in Rappahannock County, as was anticipated by most, and in turn carrietl
the state with a large plurality.
Batting his usual high average in Rappahannock was Congressman John.
O. “Jack" Marsh, Jr., who polled 1083 votes over his Republican opponent, A.
E. “Pete" Giesen who received 289. This will be the fourth term in the House of
Representatives for Mr. Marsh who represents the Seventh District.
The Bond Issue inched by in Rappahannock with 657 votes for th« school
portion and 516 against; for mental hospitals, 660 for as compared to 401 opposed. (See table for unofficial results.)
