Library Lines
To make possible the return of books on loan before they become overdue end subject to penalty, a large mail box has been installed at the library entrance for the deposit of books. Delay in returning books on time has presented a problem to the library as well as to opr readers.
Although the book /circulation during the year 1968 lijas shown a continued increase, we feel that the number of readers in Rappahannock County availing themselves of the free services of this library still falls short of expectations. We believe that our library has developed into an institution deserving of broader interest and support than showi so far. Reflecting a nationwide trend, our records show that our readers are more and more looking for sbooks by contemporary writers and for informative reading material. More active participation of ou community would, without doubt, stimulate the acquisition of more and better books on various subjects.
V^e are taking this opportunity to again ask for volunteers who are seriously interested in library work and who are willing to give time to the library regularly.
