Finances Problem
Of 91st Congress
CULPEPER, Jan, 14--Rep. John 0. Marsh, jr., said here tonight that “federal finances should be -- and probably w,ill be - the major concern of the new 91st Congress.”
“It is obvious that whatever i required in the way of money to maintain our forces in Vietnam will be provided for the duration of this conflict,” Marsh commented, "but an equal problem is the management of revenues in a period which combines progressive inflation, a relatively high level of business prosperity and continued deficit financing by government.”
The 7th District Congressman, sole Virginia member of the House Appropriations Committee, spoke at the annual banquet of the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce in the Fire Hall here.
