Two Escape Injury
in Sperryville Crash
Danny Ray Baldwin of Sperryville sustained only a minor injury, a laceration of the nose, in a single-vehicle crash very early Monday morning. The wreck occurred about 1:30 a.m aon Route 211 a half mile west of Sperryville. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, the 1968 Chevrolet operated by Baldwin went out of control, ran off the left of the road, struck a bank, ran back on the highway and off the left again and struck a fruit stand owned by Kinsey Atkins. Damage to the car was estimated at $1200 to $1500 and at $50 to the Atkins , property. Baldwin was charged with reckless driving. Georgie Woodard of Sperryville, a ; passenger in the vehicle, was not i injured.
I Thomas l^eroy Walters f of . Washington was involved in a t traffic crash on Route 622 at 1 Skyline Ski Area at 12.15 , Saturday morning. He was , operating a 1966 Rambler station , wagon owned by Johnny . Harrison. He came out of the Ski . Area and struck the bank on the right of the road, then struck the left bank and tore down some fence on the John R. DeBergh property, according to Trooper J B. Willis.

On Sunday, March 2, the Rappahannock Jaycees will participate in' a state-wide program for the benefit of Retarded Children It will be “Apple Jelly Sunday " At this time, the Jaycees here and all over the state will sell jars of apple jelly, for $1.00 each. Proceeds from the jelly sales will go toward the purchase and establishment of a home or a camp in Virginia for retarded children.
