The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries has certified to the 1/. S. Fish and Wildlife Service that Virginia lus 37;..548 paid hunting license holders and 4 15,297 paid fishing license holders during the 1967 68 fiscal year, reports Fiscal Division Chief Sam J. Putt. TTiis represented an increase of 8*7 in the number of fishing license holders but less than a 2% increase in hunting license holders. The number of license holders is derived by means of a formula which takes into account the fact that a person may purchase more than one license. This count, along with the geographic area of the state, determines Virginia’s share of federal aid funds which last year totaled $615,644.
