Grand Marshal

Ed McMahon, TV personality and host of the “Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”, will be the Grand Marshal of the Grand Feature parade of the 42nd Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester on Friday, ,May 2, at 1:30 p.m.

The TV announcer is also host of “Snap Judgment”, a daytime game show, and is heard on the NBC Radio network’s “Monitor. From time to time he also makes guest appearances on NBC TV shows other than his regular assignments. He was host during the past summer on the Kaaft Music Hall. McMahon has played i in summer stock and appeared on , Broadway as substitute for Alan King in “Impossible Years”. He also makes recordings and appeared in the motion picture, ; “The Incident,” in 1967.

During World War II, McMahon 1 was a Marine Corps instructor and ■ fighter pilot. Recalled to active ' service in the Korean war, he flew ■ 85 combat missions, winning six . air medals. He is now a Coloqel in • the Marine Corps Rg^rve. McMahon attended the Catholic University of America,
