I was mighty proud to noti that almost half of the peopli attending the Annual BCD meeting at Holly House las Thursday night were fron Rappahannock County. Thosi attending included H. L Manwaring, A. Y. Stokes, A. F Cannon, Mr. and Mrs. Raj Cannon, Gen. Daniel Noce, Mr and Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr. Randall Updike, Mrs. Lois Snead Mr. and Mrs. Ian Pryde and Mrs Mary Van Brederode.
Highlight of the meeting was i talk by A. L. Eller, Jr. or “Heredity”. Also, we should b« and are very proud of the recorc being made by the Rappahannocl bulls on record of performance | feed test at both Culpeper anc j Dublin. In fact, these bulls have been doing so well that I hesitate to “brag” on them in detail.

Suffice it to say that when the feed test started one of Raj Cannon’s Angus bulls he sent tc Culpeper was the highest indexec bull of all breeds going on feed al this station. Also, another one ol his bulls was the highest indexec of all Angus bulls on feed al Dublin.
Rappahannock owners anc chain numbers of their bulls or feed at Culpeper are as follows: f49 a Charolais owned by H. L. Manwaring of Woodville, f61 and 62, both Angus, belonging to Raj T. Cannon, f63, also an Angus, belonging to Alpheaus Cannon. C. E. Johnson, Jr. of Sperryvillc has seven bulls on feed test al Culpeper numbered 79 through 85.
****** The Virginia Beef Cattle Convention will be held February 7 and 8th at Natural Bridge Hotel. The program gets underway at 10 a.m. at which time the annual meeting of the Virginia BCIA will also be held in the ballroom. * Local cowmen, those with Commercial cows, as well as those with purebred, should mark these dates on their calendars and plan tb attend.
