The bulls at both stations recently completed 84 days of the 140-day official gain test and were weighed December 26 at Dublin and December 27 at Culpeper. The 84-day feed test gains were very impressive, though there is considerable variation between individuals. The average we^ight-per -day-of-age, which measures continuous lifetime gain is the highest for any year of testing so far, which indicates greater superiority of the bulls.
At Culpeper, the 45 Herefords, of which 11 are horned and 34 are polled, have an average daily gain for 84 days of 3 pounds and an average weight-per-day-of-age of 2.53 pounds. The 63 Angus have an 84-day test daily gain of 2.90 pounds and a weight-per-day -of age of 2.52 pounds. The 2 Shorthorns have averaged 2.30 pounds per day on feed and 2.20 pounds per day of age. The 7 Charolais have gained 3.27 pounds per day on feed and 2.97 pounds per day of age. All 117 head averaged 2.95 pounds test daily gain and 2.55 pounds weight-per-day-of-age.

Hereford — Lot 3, a polled calf consigned by Green Meadow Farm of Stanardsville with a test gain of 3.87 pounds per day and a weight-per-day-of-age of 2.83.
Angus — Lot 84, consignment of C. E. Johnson of Sperryville, whose test gain is 3.51 pounds and weight-per-day-of-age is 2.97 pounds.
