Mr». W. W. Walter
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Walter, 68, of The Plains, died Sunday, February 2, 1969 in a Winchester nursing home. She was the daughter of the late Cecil Calvert Wales Witherow and the late Sara Margaret Herron Witherow, and the widow of Willie W. Walter. Mr. and Mrs. Walter had lived in Amissville until after his death in 1960.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Ellison and Mrs. Harry Heflin, Jr. both of The Plains, Mrs. Harold Brawley of San Martin, Calif, and Mrs. Roy McCandless and Mrs. David E. Settlage, both ' of Sacramento, Calif.; and ten grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Hugh Yowell of Culpeper.
A funeral service was held yesterday at the Amissville, Methodist Church at 2 p.m Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were S. W. Riley, Charlie Compton, John Yowell, Hugh Yowell, Egbert Witherow and Stewart Miller.
Andrew L. Williams
Andrew Lee Williams, 80, of Chester Gap, died in the Lynn Care Center of Warren Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1969.
He was bom in Rappahannock County, a son of the late John Williams and Mrs. Polly Brady Williams. His wife Mrs. Dorothy Mary Williams predeceased him in 1961.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Underwood and Mrs. Jean Ankers of Falls Church and Mrs. Pauline Elphinstone of Washington, D.C., and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Robertshaw-Turner Funeral Home in Front Royal with interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
