Festus F. Hitt
Graveside services were held Monday in Fairview Cemetery for Festus Franklin Hitt, 59, of Eggsbomsville, who died January 31, 1969, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Gordon George officiated at the service.
Mr. Hitt, a carpenter, was a native of Rappahannock County but had lived in Culpeper for many years. He was a member of Gourdvine Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Eugene F. Hitt of Brightwood; two daughters, Mrs. John Gould and Mrs. Ernest Stanley, both of Fredericksburg, and eight grandchildren; also two brothers, Archie Hitt and Roy Hitt, both of Rixeyville and a sister, Mrs. Ray Sutphin of Rixeyville.
Mrs. Jeanette Edwards
I Mrs. Jeanette Hitt Edwards, 51,
wife of George Edwards of Culpeper, died Thursday, January 30, 1969, at her home following a long illness. She was a native of Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Wade Hunt Hitt and Annie Cloud Hitt.
Besides her husband, survivors include three brothers, L. Haywood Hitt of Culpeper, Clarence Hitt of Fredericksburg and Garland Hitt of Mesa, Arizona.
A graveside funeral was held in Fairview Cemetery Saturday conducted by the Rev. Gordon George.
