Lifetime Licenses
Bought by 4,500
Some 4,500 Virginians 70 years of age and over took advantage of the special lifetime hunting and fishing license offered for the first time in the 1968-69 license year, reports Game Commission Fiscal Division Chief Sam J. Putt. The special $5 license is available only to residents of Virginia 70 years of age and over. “Most of those who purchased the plastic-laminated license were between 70 and 78 years old,” Putt said. The most senior licensee was a 102-year-old Winchester gentleman whose lifetime-license was presented by friends and admirers.
