High Price Paid
For Federal Aid
According to a recent tabulation, Rappahannock County taxpayers are paying a high price for the benefits that their area receives under the various Federal aid programs.
For every dollar that comes back to them from Washington---for hospitals, schools, roads, urban renewal, child welfare and other purposes-the cost to them is $1.06.
That is how much they have been contributing, via their income taxes and excise taxes, for allocation toward the aid programs.
