Squirrel Season

Wednesday morning October 1 marks the opening of the early squirrel season in Rappahannock County. This two week season running through October 14 will also include all counties joining Rappahannock with the exception of Madison County.
October 1 is also the opening day for the coon season in Fauquier and Madison Counties. Rappahannock coon season opens October 15, as do those counties west of the Blue Ridge
Archery season for deer, bear, and squirrel comes in on October 14. 1 900.

Dove hunters have been asked to spare the pigeons, oy the homing pigeon people Local barn pigeons are not considered game birds and may be shot at any lime but a racing pigeon is a high priced bird. Racing pigeons are usually seen singly or in small groups flying in a straight line 'above the treetops. They will occasionally stop for food or : water.
