When the legislative body of Rappahannock County met at the courthouse Friday for the regular October meeting, all Supervisors were present and the Chairman. J Newbill Miller, presided. Among topics for discussion or action were boundary markers, dumps, sale of school buildings and highways.

A report by the committee on dumping revealed marked improvement in the use of the dumping units and their care. The refuse company with which the county is now dealing has proved to offer superior service with proper management, and better equipment.

The Board accepted the resignation of Lt. Gen. Daniel Noce as zoning administrator and appointed Col. Evan A. McNear to the office. It was voted that e letter of appreciation should be sent Mr. Noce. 5

The Rappahannock County School Board is advised to proceed along the lines of advertising and preparing for the sale of obsolete school buildings, namely the Washington and Sperryville Elementary facilities which are no longer used since the consolidation of all elementary students to the new building

George H. Davis, Jr., Commonwealth’s Attorney, agreed to join Supervisor L. 11. Luttrell in a check on the markers set following the survey of the county boundary. Mr. Luttrell feels the markers are inadequate and do not fulfill the stipulations of the survey suit.
