The candlelight ceremony was performed by the Reverend John P. Oliver, jr., in the First Baptist Church, Front Royal at seven o’clock in the evening. Arrangements of white flowers, palms and candelabra decored the church.
Dr. East ham gave his daughter in marriage. Her formal gown was of off-white satin with long fitted sleeves and the neckline and hemline were edged with Alencon lace. The skirt featured a front panel of lace and was scattered with seed pearls. Her full length veil was also edged with matching lace and was attached to a velvet bow. She carried a bouquet of white roses.
Miss Virginia Yates Bradford of Flint Hill and Miss Nancy Jo Compton of Richmond were maids of honor. Their long A-line gowns were designed with a fitted bodice of emerald green velvet and a skirt of ivory satin. Their flowers were rust colored mums with ivory streamers and a candle in the center which was lighted during the ceremony.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Michael Brown of Culpeper, Mrs. Parham Fox, and Miss Jill Pritchett, both of Richmond, Mrs. Stephen Waterman, of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Edwin Eastham III and Mrs. James Dawson, both of Huntly.
Mary Lindsay Eastham of Front Royal and Ann Marie Bentley of Owosso, Michigan were junior bridesmaids. They are sisters of the bride and bridegroom, respectively. All of the attendant’s gowns were the same fabrics, colors and design.
Acting as flower girls were Elizabeth Dawson and Margaret Dawson, nieces of the bridegroom and Susan Bentley and Marianne Bentley, also the bridegroom’s nieces, were train bearers. Then long dresses were of ivory satin trimmed in emerald velvet. James
