Carnival Next Week
Sperryville firemen are very busy with preparations for the opening next week of their annual fund raising carnival. Opening of the four-night event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15 and continues through Saturday, July 18. Among the features of the carnival will be a parade, queen crowning and awarding of prizes.
Featured Wednesday evening will be country music and the big parade is set for Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m. and will include many units of all kinds. Prizes in all concessions will be better than ever and there will be more rides on the midway. Good food will be available and plentiful each night and there will be fun and entertainment, games and rides for everyone.
A queen will be crowned Friday night and prizes will be awarded Saturday. The grand prize is a 1970 Ford Maverick and other prizes include a country ham, a ladderback chair and $10 in groceries.
