OBITUARIES
Allyn D. Robb
A graveside funeral service was held Wednesday for Allyn David Robb, 58, of Amissville, who died July 5, 1970 in the Fauquier County Hospital after a long illness.
The Rev. Charles Allen of Grace Episcopal Church in Casanova conducted the service at the Old Georgetown Cemetery between Broad Run and The Plains.
Mr. Robb was a native of Illinois. He moved to Virginia from Athens, Ga. in 1964, where he was a horse and cattle farmer, and at the time of his death was Southern Atlantic states manager for the Pioneer Chemical Company.
A well-known polo player and referee, he had played in the International Sports Corps at Oatbrook, 111. and with the Woodlawn Polo team of Virginia. He hunted with several surrounding Hunt Clubs and was a licensed judge of the American Horse Show Association and a member of the Fauquier Club of Warrenton.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Paige Robb of Amissville; two daughters, Ann Paige Robb of Amissville and Ellen Robb of Athens, Ga.; a son, Allan David, Jr., also of Athens, Ga. and three sisters in Chicago.
