A terrific storm struck the Woodville ares of Rappahannock last Thursday evening and torrential rains pelted the land, accompanied by gale winds. Numerous trees were uprooted, twisted off or struck by lightning. Five trees fell across Route S22 in one spot and a large tree in the yard at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wood tore off the comer of the porch roof as it fell near the house. Next morning found them busy with operation cleanup. A house on this site was completely destroyed during the ’29 tornado.
