Letter To Editor Editor The Rappahannock News Dear Editor: I was one of those in attendance at the Independence Day festivities at Washington, Va. I wish to express my appreciation to ail those who worked so hard to produce such a fine program. , This includes the children’s pageant at the Rappahannock Library. They were excellent. In the evening we enjoyed a fine display of good old-fashioned American patriotism. My only regret (and one shared by several others, I discovered) was that the program personnel were apparently unable to secure a tape of President Nixon’s . Inaugural Address. In this time of ’ national unrest it would have ' been most appropriate; however, ' I thoroughly enjoyed the other : participants. The fireworks display was thrilling, but to me the highlight ‘ of this portion of the program was the flag burning ceremony. Those who planned and directed all the activities certainly deserve to be commended for their efforts and the success of | the day. Sincerely, Charles F. Kindred Amissvilie, Va.
