The raccoon season will open in Rappahannock next Thursday, the 15th of October. Coon season also opens in Page and Warren Counties which means, finally all counties in the area, in fact, statewide, are now open to coon hunting. There is still one thing to watch though and that is the bag limit. While there is no limit in Madison, Culpeper and Fauquier counties, there is a limit of 2 per day In Rappahannock and all counties west of the Blue Ridge. One other item for coon hunters who hunt Madison County or west of the Blue Ridge is that Commission owned land, the Rapidan Wildlife Management Area, and National Forest land will be closed to coon hunting until the general small game seasons come In those counties where the Commission and National Forest land is located.
