A membership drive for the Rappahannock County Elementary School Parent-Teachers Association is underway; is obtaining excellent results and will be concluded Monday, October 12. Students have been soliciting patrons and members and they are leaving no stone unturned, as William Carter of Washington demonstrated when he signed up his school principal, Mrs. Mary B. Quaintance. William has secured 17 memberships and at left, is Carolyn Burke of Castleton who has signed up 13 members. Both are fourth grade students and are competing for the prize to be awarded the person securing the greatest number of members. Proceeds from the membership drive will help defray the costs of the paving on a portion of the playground.
