Wreck Occur* in By-Passed Town .

With the quiet of the Town of Washington since the opening of the new by-pass it was surprising that a collision occurred Sunday afternoon right in the middle of the town. Clarence Joseph Seale of Luray, operating a 60 Ford, entered the highway from Route 626. He struck a 1970 Plymouth operated by Jimmie Dale Jenkins and owned by his brother Jonas Jenkins, Jr. of Washington, Va.t according to Trooper W. A. Buntin.

Damage to the Jenkins car was estimated at $1,300 and to the Seale vehicle at $500 which would be a total loss. Seale was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

9.78 inches. Quite a difference from 1970.
