Ohio, and from the London’s Academy of Music. Mr. West received a Rotary International Fellowship in 1963 for European study, and he was a finalist in the Third International Concourse of Singing in Liege, Belgium in 1963. He studied and sang professionally in London and the United Kingdom for a number of years, receiving national press acclaim for his performance in Richard Rodney Bennett’s opera, “The Ledge.” In 1967, he returned to the United States and successfully auditioned for the Metropolitan Opera Studio the following year and has been performing extensively with the Studio since that time.
Wayne Tumage has been a regular member of the Metropolitan Opera since 1969. He has also appeared at the distinguished Marlboro Music Festival, the Newport Festival, Santa Fe Opera, with the Atlanta Opera Company, at the Library of Congress, and last summer, in concerts in Lincoln Center’s newest auditorium Alice Tully Hall. A former finalist in the National Metropolitan Opera Auditions, Mr. Turnage received his Master’s Degree in Musicology and Performance from Indiana University and the University of North Carolina.
Pianist David Morgan, who accompanies the Columbia Operatic Trio, is a native of Jackson, Miss. He has toured with baritone John Darrenkamp, the Rebels Quartet and has been Assistant Director with Dallas Summer Musicals. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University.
