Tag Sale Monday

State and county automobile license tags will go on sale in Rappahannock County on Monday, March 15, 1971. State tags may be purchased at the Sperryville Corner Store and county tags are sold at the Treasurer’s office in Washington. Wilson Burke, agent for Virginia license tags, announces the hours for the sale of tags will be each weekday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon. He asks that insurance and other pertinent information be filled out on the registration card before arriving at the license office.

County tag stickers will be sold between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily and from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays. County personal property taxes must be paid and the auto registration card stamped by the Commissioner of Revenue, Mrs. Roberta Spalding, before securing a county sticker. Declaration of personal property for 1970 must also be made at this time.
