Sheriff Charles K. Estes was present to discuss the cost-price squeeze as it pertains to the operation of his department. With the increase in insurance rates more than threefold for his department and other soaring expenses and living costs Mr. Estes asked the advice of the Board as to how it could best be met.
Salary increasees, a county vehicle and additional expense allowances were among the means discussed but no concrete action took place. However, the Board did request additional figures for discussion at a future meeting.
Accounts were approved for payment before adjournment.
