Mrs. Mary Gore Gander, 62, wife of John M. Gander of FYont Royal, died Wednesday, March 3, 1971 in Warren Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the chapel of Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal, conducted by the Rev. William P. Sloane. Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery.
Mrs. Gander was born in Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late Edgar and Verlie Johnson Gore. She had been a teacher in the Warren County Public Schools for 30 years, and was teaching this year at the 15th Street School. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. '* Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Miss Elizabeth Gander of Front Royal and Los Angeles,Galif., one sister, Mrs. Thomas L. Brown of Culpeper; and a nephew, William Huff of Culpeper. Pallbearers at the funeral service were Charles T. Sowers, William Huff, Maurice Bowen, 0. A. Norton, Paul Mishler and Walter Duncan.
Mrs. Carrie Ellington
A funeral service for Mrs. Carrie Triplett Ellington, 83, wife of Edward Ellington of Culpeper, was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Geest Funeral Home. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellington died March 7, 1971 in a Richmond Hospital. She was a native of Culpeper County, daughter of the late Albert T. Vaughan and the late Carrie Willie Spicer Vaughan.
Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edith V. Green of Slate Mills and Mrs. George W. Wehmas of Richmond; a son, E. Maurice Ellington of Culpeper; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Clatterbuck, Mrs. Virgie Hawkins and Mrs. Fannie Rumsey, all of Culpeper.
